St. Louis Area Networking Group
You’ve been to a few networking events. You’ve seen businesses trying to connect to others through a pitch or over a drink in two-minute snippets. You’re surrounded by noise and the pressure to walk away with a contact or a lead.
You’re ready for something different.
Better Together Networking is different. The group is focused on creating a network of individuals who are all on an even playing field, trying to learn and grow and navigate the world of business together. The group is focused on giving back to the community while also investing in personal and professional growth.
You can join. The St. Louis area group is accepting members as this time and always welcomes guests.
Networking with like-minded professionals
Forming relationships with others in business means gaining new friends who understand what it means to step out and build a business. It also means gaining advocates who will remember that you are excellent at what you do. When someone they know needs something you offer, they’ll be happy to provide your name and contact info because they’ll know you and your business.
Membership with Better Together Networking is free
Each meeting costs $5 per person to attend, whether you’re a guest or a member. That money goes straight to hiring expert-level speakers who will cover an educational topic to help you grow as a business owner or nonprofit director.
Why isn’t there a fee for joining?
Because the organization is owned by the members.
The benefits of becoming a member of Better Together Networking are simple.
Grow your network; grow your business.
- Access to a private Facebook group to further connect with other members.
- Your business listed on the BTN website with a link back to your website.
- A platform to showcase your expertise (on the BTN blog).
- Social Media advocacy.
- A direct influence on the direction of the group.
- Inclusion in a quarterly Mastermind Workshop.
What is a Mastermind Workshop?
It’s a members’ only meeting held once every three months. In this meeting, each member will bring with them whatever problem they’re currently facing in business (you know, things like where to find more clients, how do I price this service, etc.). Each member tells the group about the problem, and then the group brainstorms a solution. Then it’s on to the next member to talk about their current struggle.
How is this helpful?
You’re getting insight and feedback from experienced business professionals. The current BTN members have decades of combined business experience. They’re experts on a variety of topics such as marketing, branding, sales, customer service, leadership, and more.
You’re also relationship building. There’s nothing that can bind people together quite like shared struggles.
As the group grows, more Mastermind Workshops will be added so no more than 10 members attend each meeting to make sure that the group has time to address each problem. You’ll be pooling collective knowledge to problem-solve in a way that is invaluable for any business.
And, because BTN is an industry-exclusive group, you’ll never be in a mastermind with a direct competitor so you can feel free to share your current struggle.
So, what is required of a member of Better Together Networking?
Better Together Networking is an industry-exclusive group, which means that we only accept members who do not provide services or products in the same industry as an existing member. Guests are also to be in an industry that is not currently represented by members.
All members are required to bring one guest per year so the group never becomes stagnant. Everyone is also encouraged to bring business owners and entrepreneurs who are a good fit for the group, all year round. Guests may attend up to three meetings prior to joining the group as a member.
For relationship-based networking to be successful, members need to attend regularly. If a member is unable to attend a meeting, then we ask that the member find a substitute to attend in his or her place. If excessive absences occur, then that member’s spot will be opened up to others in the same industry. The member is welcome to reapply for membership at any point, though, unless the open spot has been filled by a professional in the same industry.
Each meeting will consist of:
- Member & Guest Introductions—each member and guest will introduce their business or organization.
- Business education speaker—a guest speaker will speak, covering a topic that will help business owners expand their knowledge base.
- Open Networking
